The Egyptian League of American Football (ELAF) was founded in 2013, to be the first official organization that represent the growth and development of American Football in Egypt.
In July 2014, The Egyptian League of American Football was spotted and accepted by the IFAF Congress to be an IFAF full member in the International Federation of American Football.
In February 2015, The Egyptian League of American Football announced ELAF Academy for all age-groups providing skill development at all levels and fostering each player to their maximum potential in order to support the growth and development of American football in Egypt. It strive to provide the best possible environment for growth that an American football player would ask for, and encourage players of all size, strength and ability to reach their own definition of success by unleashing their talents and by breaking down the game to the basics and building them up.
The Egyptian League of American Football is focusing on both tackle and flag football, offering a full-contact football in Egypt. The league offers a number of training sessions, open try-outs, and skills camps. We oversee and co-ordinate all competitive football in Egypt as well as the coaching, officiating and further development of the sport.
The league is now comprised of four teams (Sharks, Hawks, Mustangs and Lions), and is divided into two main competitions the Egyptian League of Flag Football (ELFF) and the Egyptian League of American Football (ELAF).

Mo’men Naiem is the founder and the current president of the Egyptian League of American Football.
He was selected as the vice-chair of IFAF Africa by the International Federation of American Football in July 2014.
